Confinement made us spend a lot of time at home, and little things that might not have been a priority for us, have now become essential. People became more aware of their spaces and their importance and quality.
 
Therefore, the house tends to adapt to become a "multifunctional space", capable of fluidly incorporating different functions, namely work, rest and leisure. And also to privilege a greater connection with the outside and nature, with more gardens and outdoor spaces.
 
That is why terraces and balconies are increasingly seen as options in the future. These assumed the role of transition spaces that actually function as oxygen balloons, and that have already proved to be fundamental during quarantine.
 
The search for larger spaces, both indoor and outdoor, has gained more evidence. Along with new typologies and locations, especially in the areas bordering the urban centers, or even in the countryside, in rural areas, or on the beach, people have gained a new sense of quality of life and family life and / or teleworking -,
 
However, the collective concern with hygiene and well-being will also shape the housing of the future, which should be increasingly “pandemic-proof”. A space where innovations with hygienic and sustainable reinforcement will fit, that is, solutions that reinforce preventive hygiene and safety measures.
